Continuing Professional Development

Question: Explain about the Process Construction and Technical Services Pvt Ltd. Answer: Since my childhood, I was always curious about how things worked. I had an affinity towards physics and mathematics throughout my school days. This interest motivated me to take up Mechanical Engineering course at Toc H Institute of science and technology which is affiliated to CUSAT (Cochin University of Science and Technology). The different subjects in the field aggravated my interest in Mechanical subjects. Being an ardent lover of the nature I wanted to deal with projects which could reduce human effort as well as pollution. As a result my final year Project, WHAC - water heater from air conditioner won the best project award. Soon after completing my degree I got an opportunity to experience the working culture of AUDI service at Kochi. It was then that I decided to pursue my dreams by joining Post graduate degree course in Industrial Engineering and management at Viswajyothi College of engineering and technology which is affiliated to M.G University, Kerala. During this course I found out the mutual existence of Engineering and management for the successful outcome of a company. As part of the final semester project, I got an opportunity to work on the topic optimization of turning parameters. After successfully completing the project I could publish two international journals related to the topic optimization. During my Postgraduate days, I got an opportunity to visit and get training at Kochi Port Trust, Kerala for a period of six months. This period gave me insights on the different departments at the port and their functions. Next step was to find a platform where I could apply what I have learned back in college. I was fortunate enough to be placed in an EPC company PCTS (Process Construction and Technical Services PvtLtd). PCTS is pioneer in offshore and onshore mechanical and electrical works. Mechanical works include fabrication and erection of structural, piping and architectural modules. According to the project requirement I have worked both in Offshore and onshore and gained ample experience by interacting with clients, analyzing different scenarios and by the knowledge acquired from college. To enhance my knowledge and minimize the difficulties, I attended a certified course on Primavera P6 during work period. I am presently decorating the role of planning engineer for onshore constructions of oil head platform at LTHE yard, Surat, India.
